This 25 page nature journal is designed to help you and your children become familiar with the plants and animals in your own backyard or neighborhood. There are 5 pages each for the following: trees, flowers, invertebrates, animals, and birds.
 
There is also a cover page and directions page.
 
In addition, there is a Species Identification tracker to put on display. When a child completes a journal entry, they can mark off one circle for that species on the tracker. This is a fun way to encourage participation and keep track of progress!
 
The journal comes in two versions so that multiple children can participate at once:
Version 1: Drawing Pictures (Pre-writers)
Version 2: Pictures and writing
